Jessica Kennedy’s website (see link in blogroll) officially goes live tomorrow, January 1, 2008. Check it out. And think about it the next time you’re temped to say, “Oh, I could never do …”
Submit at least one story/poem a week
So I figure I’m going to make some writer’s New Years resolutions and I’m working on what I want them to be. I’d like them to be something I can actually do, as opposed to something I’d like to have happen. So here are a few I’m considering:
– Keep a notebook of story ideas (I’ve actually started this one online)
–Go through my three (or maybe four) notebooks and put the good ideas into the story idea notebook
–read at least one poem a day
– write or revise at least one poem a week
– keep writing stories and trying to be them published
That’s it so far. Write back and let me know yours.
I am still working on cleaning my room. I got several more dresser drawers cleaned, leaving five drawers to go. Also I still have to organize my writing notes, papers, etc. — the paper stuff, not anything that’s on a computer. I did try to do a little with the paper stuff this weekend. Boy, what a mess. I had so many papers spread out on my bed that there was no room for my dog. Boy, was he grumpy!
So I finally did it; after several years of saying to myself, “That sounds like a cool contest to enter,” I entered the Wergle Flomp humor poetry contest. The results aren’t posted until next August, so I have a while to wait.
